I mean, as a ceo they’re def more your friend than they are ours.
No.
HR = NARC
(the H is hidden, like their agendas)
Absolutely not. They are a friend of the company and will do everything in their power to protect it over you.
When a CEO poses the question, it all but becomes rhetorical. 😉

If anyone needs advice on navigating around HR I’m happy to help you. When it comes to mental health it is a minefield. I posted this article as a concerned human, not a CEO.
OP (CEO): I want to step back for a second and say I respect you for clarifying that you posted this as a concerned human. In that case, I’ll clarify that my comment about it translating automatically to a rhetorical was meant to be lighthearted, but if you’re seeking honesty then I was flippant. So - human to human - HR is misrepresented as a confidant or a refuge, and it’s not. They are essentially a company’s staff of fixers. In the particular case of mental health, an employee’s issues can more often become magnified and managed in a way that is more harmful than simply remaining silent. One is more likely to be handled/marginalized by HR than they are to be heard and supported.
Nope!
Only when the head of HR is titled Chief Heart Officer. 🤡🤡🤡
Literally read the same article today (I don't think your link came through?): Is HR ever really your friend? - BBC Worklife https://www.bbc.com/worklife/article/20211022-is-hr-ever-really-your-friend
They are the eyes and ears of all higher ups, it is the experience I’ve had in many places, other colleagues have gone through nightmares when it comes to HR.
It is very convenient to have two CEOs saying the opposite. You may be the few good CEOs out there. But HR works for you. HR gets their paycheck from the company not from any employee, and they (HR) have bills to pay too, so I get it. Just don’t trust HR.
No, never trust them.
HR is the most duplicitous set of employees in the company. Theyre there to protect the company not the talent.
It's all in the name--human "resources." Humans are a resource to the company. We're fuel. If they were your friends we wouldn't be categorized as though we're a utility.
Never trust HR. They might sound interested in helping you out but at the end they work for the company to reduce their liabilities and other amount of legal stuff.
Never!

Never. Don’t get it twisted.
Yes.
Nope! The HR department from my last agency was completely self serving. Glad to see from the comments that it’s not just my experience!
