How's the hike folks !!
Hi Folks, I have recently joined Thoughtworks as applicable developer consultant. Currently I am having 2.7 year of experience. Just curious to know following information 1. Hike cycle and average hike percentage 2. Criteria for promotion to senior consultant 3. Average Hike percentage during promotion
Thank in advance for the reply ☺️
I'll be joining tw as UI Lead, soon.
I'm a javascript/react developer since inception of my career & haven't worked much on CICD/JENKINS and similar technology.
Should I be worried that as a lead I don't know these and will it affect by job security?
Ps- I'm good at UI,js, react etc.

If u want to switch again after 1 year then better dont join TW
as job security in TW is based on projects.
If you are a billable resource in your big 4 better stick to it
Big 4 any day. Work culture may be bad in Big 4 , but still it will give value to your resume. TW is another service company only. For data analyst role, if you have good project and you have billing , it's better to stay in Big 4 for atleast 1 year. In TW , the work culture is may not be bad as a Big 4 , but the problem is you may end up in very bad project.
And one more thing, the whole thread is not about tech stack difference between TW or any big 4, it was about , whether it is wise to switch from a big 4 for TW in 3 months of joining. People are giving opinion about that. What I give is my perception about it. It is better to be in Big4 than in TW , if you are okey with the work culture. It will always give more value to him/her resume. That's what I feel from my 15 years of experience. I do have exp in most of the service companies (TCS, CTS, now TW) and big 4.

Stay in big4 for next 6 months. Right now future of TW is also uncertain. Someone might buy TW soon. So little stability issue in the short term for sure.
How can people think Big 4 are not service based? They serve the clients and pick up any menial tech tasks. It is not proper dev projects too. Either these people lack knowledge or they are simply hell bent on miguiding people. And just to clarify, i am no fan of TW, but to say big 4 is better than Tw, is simply nonsense and deserves to be called out
Not bain or mckinsey but big 4 is just above these tcs wipro etc type companies atleast in terms of tech
