Are we still judging people based on their command on English. I believe even client would give you some slack on English written/verbal skills.. I feel your skill should talk for you. But definitely improving English skills is advisable.
@deloitte3
Let me know your linkedIn id in DMs, lets see how much negativity you have acquired from your surroundings.
Itna v beer na piyo janaab ki har comment pe ake ulti kr do :)
Hey OP, I support you. And I hope you are able to ignore all negative comments. Sour grapes !
I wish all these cuties keep sticking to their mother tongue, only helps others who wanna grow, grow.
@EY2
Itna cutie cutie bol rha h.. Zindagi bhar me to ek cutie to pata ni paaya hoga lekin angrezi show dekh k cutie cutie bolna seekh gya.. So cute... Hahahhahahha.

Tu unki Chachi kyu ban Raha hai?
Deloitte hi toh hai or wo bhi service based company.
Umm why are the devs directly talking to the clients? BA and EM are the face of the team, it's the basic rule, the one who can present better speaks and showcases. Tim doesn't develop code, but only showcases what has been done. Take charge already.
You are probably more experienced than I am, so, my advice would be to setup a call with them, pass on the feedback and set clear expectation that their AIP is dependent on one of the important factor with many other which is communication.
Be patient, even you were in their position in the past. 😊
If needed, we can connect over IM and work this out.

Angrez ka choda
This is what we can expect from infi guy.
I think only people in Deloitte brag a lot about knowing English. It's just another service based company where Indians are being hired. Some might be a little slow or don't know how to properly construct a sentence. Cut some slack, they'll learn. Make them speak.
If only knowing English was the point, they could have looked somewhere else.
D USI 2: Seems like you've been to a lot of kitty parties! And assuming oneself to be a celeb implicitly point towards an overinflated ego and can fall in the domain of narcissistic personality disorder. Just saying!
I still am not understnading the post which happeend to understnd me is vry diffycult to read.
Yes
@Author, jaldbaji mei mistakes ho jaati hogi usme itna kya gussa, lgta hai aapne kbhi French/Chinese clients ke sath deal nhi kiya, unki English padhoge na toh trigger hokar fatt jaoge😝😂
exactly, agar koi gori angrez galat hindi bolti hai toh sblog usko kitna cute, adorable bolte hai. 'nama stay, dey wauli ke shaub kama nie'.
OP - Completely agree, I'm with you here. Consulting is about client presence that requires good communication skills.
Sometimes, the kind of sentences leads use while talking to the client makes me cringe inside.
Whatever happened to polished Consulting professionals?! I don't care whatever the HRs say, if you cannot form proper sentences and are applying to a consulting firm, you are basically out the door. I do my part in ensuring quality folks get in, tech or otherwise kept aside.
I happen to be doing the same. Just because I have been instructed to ask easy questions and forgo communication skills, I am not going to do that. If I feel like I can’t work with someone, I would never impose that candidate on someone else.
I completely agree with you. I find it immensely depressing when I see that the freshers struggle with even basic communication. I know people hate when we judge by the correctness of English, but trust me I have had multiple scenarios when there has been so much misunderstanding because of incorrect grammar. At the end of the day when you have graduated from school & college with all your subjects in English, I would always expect you to speak and write the language correctly. No-one is asking you to use fancy words.
Thanks! Exactly what I meant to say. My words just got misconstrued by the zillion fishes out there. I guess I gave my ocd more importance than it required. I believe constantly and continuously correcting the emails has exhausted me.
No it's not just you.
It's not that you have to judge people solely based on their English speaking skills or grammar, but it is important that you are good at communication.
For those saying it's just a language or that it isn't that important, we all want international exposure and on site to a foreign country don't we? So why not improve the language skills as well.
🙌
Bcuz inglish ij a very phunny lenguaze
There are English speaking people who don’t write English that well too. But I agree you can’t be working in Deloitte and having an English skill set as ‘Beginner’.
And I know people who speak good English, but they can't write a hello world program properly. And Deloitte hires them for technical roles. The thing is, if one is technically sound and also good communicator to become Architects and CTO, then they will try to become Architects and CTO in a company. Doesn't join for 5 lakhs packages.
To each their own.
No clue. It's not there since 2019

Versant is gone? Why - and what replaced it?
On the contrary I interviewed with Deloitte did so many rounds for various positions, no idea what they were trying to gauge for me, or find the best fit. I had a very good Versant score but technically wasn’t as strong and didn’t get the role I would have liked. Maybe they are shifting things around to better improve hiring practices.
The point is not getting triggered by mistakes in English. It is very common to have different ways of using grammar and words in English because we in India initially were taught british english which evolved into Indian English but when we talk to the client is it mostly american english. (For e.g. colour and color)
The point is what did you do to correct it?
Did you reach out to your team and helped them in drafting the right email, did you review their emails before they send it out to client?
You could have trained them on how to write effective emails and how to communicate with client?
Most-likely the answer would be this isn't your job or this must be L&D teams job, but the fact is that you have a problem with their style of English. If you want it your way, teach them the way you did it.
FA1- That’s the next step. But it just makes me sad to do that.
If one is able to understand inspite of errors, it works. People will learn on the go. Work is not going to stop, chill bro
Communication is like any other skill.some employees get irritated by grammar and spelling mistake and other can get irritated by lack of technical/any other skills of employees showing off good communication.
It works both ways.
I don't think ppl should be judged by their English 🤣 how they speak...how they write....bcz I hv seen jinko English nhi atiii achese they are technically very good. Very good means outstanding compare to ppl who speaks good English.
