When messaging a recruiter on LinkedIn, is it best to send a short note about why I’m the best fit for the gig, write a mini cover letter, ask for a time to chat, or something else? Thanks in advance!

6 months pregnant and just laid off. And 40% of my severance was just taken in taxes .. I just spoke with paid family leave and I no longer qualify even though I had been paying into the program (thanks NY)..
