Do you continue to see in-flight interview processes through once you’ve received and accepted an offer? It feels premature to cut the chord on the others, but also the decision between the companies becomes harder. Also afraid of the possibility to go back on the acceptance of the one role in favor of another.

What is your opinion on online assessments as part of the hiring process?

My partner has largely been an at-home parent for the past 5 years. She started as a HS English teacher this past September but is already looking to pivot (overworked, unpaid, safety issues, etc). She would ideally like something remote to go along with her background in writing and editing. Any tips or potential leads?

Anyone have any friends who successfully pivoted out of advertising? I know a handful of people who are half-trying to, but I can’t think of anyone who has made a clean break, on their own terms, into something that appears to be making them feel more fulfilled than they were in the ad biz. So they continue freelancing in order to make a living, while not gaining much traction elsewhere.

Pivoting away from Sales: I’ve been in sales positions for 15 years, and I’m just exhausted by the role (disputing commissions, arguing about deals, all of it). I have a degree in marketing, but I am having a hard time landing interviews since I’ve never had a strictly marketing only role. Can anyone provide any advice, or has anyone successfully moved away from sales?

How valid do you think a Myers briggs test is for determining if a career pivot is the right move. I recently took one and the career suggestions from the results seemed to be things I was already thinking about doing anyway which was a pleasant surprise.

I have an offer for a company abroad. Originally they wanted me to fly out and start the day after Thanksgiving (not celebrated in their country), but because of the holidays I suggested starting in either December or January with the ability to take some holiday days in December to fly back home for Christmas. They then proposed starting out remotely “as soon as possible” in the US as a contractor and then moving abroad to start full time abroad. (Cont)

As anyone in restaurants knows, the work is ~80 hours a week and often making less on salary than your own tipped-wage employees. I have experience with training, team building, HR, financial analytics, client needs, communications and so much more. Does anyone have recommendations on a new career path or job listings to investigate??

Any resume writer referrals? I’m trying to make the jump into project management. I have 13YOE managing cross-departmental projects and people, and I’d like to shed the general EA work of calendars/travel/expenses. But recruiters just see my most recent role is EA and that’s all they want to talk to me about. I’m hoping a better written resume will help target algorithms to get my resume viewed for other roles.
