It’s like when they ask the whole agency and their family and friends to vote for their Super Bowl spots in the Ad Meter or their Finalists in the Webby’s popular vote categories. Or their kids in the baby photo competition. Except your name is associated with the instagram like so a little more obvious it’s just employees and not genuinely popular.
Normal? Sure.
Desperate and unethical? Also yes.
I started at a place where my partner and I didn’t update our linkedins and were confronted and threatened that we had to update them to show we now worked there.

I feel this is something smaller agencies do. Whenever someone writes a negative review on our Glassdoor there’s magically a 5* review within the next week. As though our COO goes around asking people they can trust if they’ve left a review and if they’d please leave a positive one.
We were also recently asked if anyone wants to be a LinkedIn influencer for the company and post about our blogs, events, and whatnot.
If their followers aren’t liking and commenting on posts, there’s a deeper issue your CCO needs to open their eyes to.
