McKinsey & Company Hi everyone. Hope all is well.
Recently took the McKinsey & Company game (not sure if I have an interview yet but preparing nonetheless). It’s an entry level business analyst position and an entry level digital position and was wondering if anyone wanted to case prep with me. I’m willing to work on anyones time zone. (I’m located in Sydney, Australia).

My case presentation for Apple I was given 48 hrs and I’ll say it’s probably what pushed me over in terms of landing the job so glad I took the time off and focused on it. After the fact I spoke with the hiring manager and she shared that it was by far one of the most polished decks she’d seen and the level of detail and thought I put into it was impressive considering it was a hypothetical prompt.
I’m starting my new gig on Monday so all this to say it’s up to you how much you care about landing the role and making a good impression with the team.

A boutique IB once asked me to complete a model test in 2.5 hours live on a MS Teams call. I submitted a mostly finished model and never heard back from them.
Two friends of mine were asked to complete a short teaser and balance sheet reclassification in an hour for an M&A boutique.
It was a frigging face off, they both were on a teams meeting with cameras on with the two interviewers.
If you’re good at something, never do it for free
No. You’re providing free labor. Disgusting practice by firms. This is the experienced professional equivalent of an unpaid internship.
If the firm wants me to do a case with their staff present during the interview, Ok. But I’m not doing a free case.
