I really would love to get this fishbowl more active. And I hope it's OK to do some recruiting efforts here. I have an in-house real estate position for a Transactional real estate attorney with 3-9 years of experience. 3 days in the office and 2 remote. I wanted to network here and have this information passed around. I'm friends with the chief legal officer and it's a great company and opportunity. Maybe, honestly, this is the kind of thing I would just do and if people were bothered I would just invent a doctors appointment or something. Nothing dumber than making people sit around the office instead of letting them commute when there’s less traffic and or they may have a natural lull in their day

Only your supervising partner can tell you that.

Your swipe already counts IMO.
Agreed.
As long as you get your work done and are available when needed, it shouldn’t matter. I do this all the time, as it’s just a more efficient use of time.
Given that law firms charge by the hour, you would think they would want you to be able to work more hours. And yet, so many law firms are obsessing about RTO. I don’t get it. Why don’t law firms trust their people to do what is optimal? I will go into the office and meet with people when I think it’s beneficial to do so. But why require in person work during times when there is no need? Sometimes, it helps to be in the office 5 days per week. Other times, only 1 day is needed.

I leave on Fridays at 2pm.
However, my firm doesn't really enforce it. Very light handed.
I bike to work, and with the sun setting before 5 now, I leave work around 4/4:30 every day I’m in the office (unless I’m actively working on something time sensitive). Nobody has ever once noted, mentioned it, or anything. I’ve run into partners on the way out in the hallway/elevator bank, and they’ve said “have a good evening!”
