I have received offer from Wipro which is little above than the offer that I am holding but fixed pay is less. Thinking of rejecting Wipro offer. Is it better to reject or accept and then not join. Also if I reject, will there be any issue like they won't consider me in future?Tata Consultancy Wipro Cognizant Infosys

I’ve never heard of this. That seems super harsh
There are a few firms that include this in their bonus memos (I think ropes is one of them). Honestly I don’t understand why anyone delays doing their time on a regular basis. You will miss time or create inaccurate entries and have a higher chance of write offs. It is also a pain for people monitoring bills or sending our estimates to clients for remaining work on matters (which you will likely start doing as you get more senior).
I have ADHD and putting in time when I’m slammed is honestly impossible for me. I use the times so the time is accurate. Never had an issue with right offs and always make month end.
We have a three strikes policy before this kind of thing affects bonuses, but I’ve never heard of it being enforced.
It should be spelled out clearly in your firm time submission policy - review that.
I think this year is just a little different, they are looking for any reason to cut costs with revenue being down.
Yeah, Kirkland docks something like $100 each time you miss a weekly time submission and I think it goes up for the non-equity partners.

First time each year is a warning. 2-5th times is $100 each. 6-10th times is $200 each. 11th+ is $300 each. For NSPs it’s $250/500/750 and for SPs it’s $500/1000/2500.
All penalties are donated to the firm’s charity foundation.
Milbank does this too but you can donate what you don’t receive to a charity of your choice.
The human fund, plz. I have the banking information handy if you need it.
Cadwalader makes you get your paycheck in person from the payroll department if you’re late on billing. It’s in a whole different elevator bank so obviously the stakes are high.

Penalties are common but this is a big one

Yeah, 5% for one missed weekly time entry seems gigantic to me. That's brutal. My previous firm did like $50 or something where you noticed but it wasn't punitive.

This would never happen if partners had your back. I would leave the firm.
What state r u in
O’Melveny says they take weekly tardiness into account for bonuses but I don’t know if it’s enforced or if there is a certain number of times you can get away with it.
