Is it possible to move from a strategy consultancy (MBB/T2) mainly doing commercial due diligence to an M&A team at an IB or move to a front office Private Equity and Venture Capital role. If so, what is the equivalent level for a Senior Associate/Consultant/Junior Associate from a MBB/T2 Strategy firm? Am I write in thinking Associate in Banking/PE/VC is a manager level?

I am currently working as a Data Science Analyst in Amex and would like to make a switch to Fraud detection/Credit risk modelling in future.(not in a hurry but would like to start preparing for the same)
How should I go about preparing for it? Is MBA the only course?
My current tech stack is Python, Pyspark, Hive, SQL, ML, DL(specifically NLP based). I have already done MS in CS from IIT Kgp.
I am confused mainly cause the tech stack requirement is similar to my role in the company.

I am not sure if u should attend the interview or not at GDS.
When I shared this scenario with my EY IN HR, she said please don't attend it may create conflict and you may also get blacklisted.

EY GDS HR is like, you can attend the interview, there's no problem at all. We don't have such a policy. Please suggest what decision I should make.

2: PwC - post-merger integration, DDV team (essentially M&A Consulting) - bigger city, always been keen to move
