JPMorgan Chase recently introduced a policy change to increase the notice period to 60 days. I'm a 602 and resigned recently and yet my LWD is showing up as 30 days from now. Anyone recently resigned can confirm if they are facing the same or new policy is in effect. This is causing confusion with the next companies I'm interviewing with.

Remotely consistent means you aren’t a high handicapper.
The reality is there are a lot of people who can occasionally hit an excellent golf shot. That’s the fun part about this game. We can stick an approach or roll in a long putt just like a pro on any given shot. It’s being able to do it consistently (while making your bad shots less bad) that separate golfers.
On the range, I’d try to focus on a consistent setup, alignment, and swing thought. Then focus on those same 3 out on the course to try and replicated your range performance. That said, I tend to think the range is misleading and overused by high handicappers. You will never beat 30 7 irons in a row out on the course. People try to compare the results of shots 5-30 on the range to a single shot in the course.
You should spend more time on the course learning how to get the ball in the cup, and keep it out of all the other stuff. Either way, good luck!
Unfortunately no, golf is the least consistent game out there. Even professionals who shoot under part “consistently” will shoot over par and feel the exact same way you do now.
I played in college and was down to a 7 HCP at my best. That was after practicing 12 hours a day in the summer everyday, and at least hitting the range everyday when classes were going on. It takes an absurd amount of time.
All that to say don’t get discouraged. The journey to go from a 20+ HCP to a 10 is actually much more doable than going from a 10 to a 0. Just keep practicing and and enjoy the progression. It becomes addicting
I’m a 5 handicap, and I practice and play everyday (taking some time off). Still would say that my game is inconsistent from day to day. Just today I shot a 79 with 5 birdies and 4 doubles… with a ton of shots that would be bad by 40-handicap standards.
So what I hear is that the game will always be inconsistent hehe. That’s OK though, I enjoy the long ride for progress.
I’m a 5 HC and I may shoot 75-84 on any given day
