Hey All!
I have a phone interview for a data scientist role at snowflake comming up. Any advice on how to prep?
The email indicates that the call will cover my experience, motivations, and understanding of Snowflake.
Curious if other have gone through the process and have insights to share. Or if anyone at snowflake can shed light on how I can be effective.

There are some logical fallacies in your post. I'll point them out.
LF 1: If I don't understand something, it must be a scam.
LF 2: My personal observations constitute the entire population set.
LF 3: ZS is a management consulting firm
LF 4: If the entire work is done by the workers, then what is the need of higher management
Your questions will automatically be answered if you rectify these.
I was 100% expecting an answer like this. I've asked this question way too many times. People who are in management consulting often refrain from answering. Doesn't matter if I agree or disagree with your opinion. But they do not answer because they do not have any answer.
It’s a scam and mostly soft skills and just situation management skills after few years.
If you can ask right questions, do email stuffs, give directional guidances, throw ideas you will survive in this to a certain point maybe Manager.
But to become AP/P, the game is all together different.
Yes after becoming a Manager your performance is measured on selling mostly

ZS doesn't do a lot of management consulting FYI. Only a few in SIP track really do stuff veey close to typical strategy work.
I switched to strategy consulting outside of ZS and my friend is in the product company. We discuss this a lot and here are the reasons from our experience.
1) They can do the same work internally but results might be biased hence third party opinion
2) It's not entirely true that they lack industry knowledge. In my firm, there is a good mix of pharma doctorates, people from client companies, medical doctors, and general consultants
3) They have competitor data. Although there are restrictions in sharing directly, the recommendations are often built on keeping these things in mind
4) The recommendations provided are based on primary research interviews and marketing situations for different client companies hence no in-depth pharma knowledge is often required
5) Often times same work is given to multiple consulting firms. If majority of them have same opinion they can implement them with confidence
6) Client companies are not very smart. Many emerging companies will have a great drug but they don't know how to successfully launch
Thank you for your answer. Makes a lot of sense.
Talk about the consultants around you, I have industry experience before ZS and joined as a lateral consultant. I find both me and my colleagues to be smart and competent enough to both do ground level work as well as consult the clients.
If I start telling you how much on ground work I have done in my 6 year career, you will probably take this post down and feel bad about it. My client recommendations got me admitted to good universities and helped/benefited their brands in multiple ways.
There are multiple other ways to gain attention, you don't necessarily need to demean a complete set of hard working people. Just saying!
