Worth it. You'll crush it here as an A with experience.
Recommend it, I summered at Deloitte before moving to BCG full time and can say it’s a very different path, not 2 steps back as you should be well-positioned for strong early performance and quick advancement
If you have an opportunity, then yes, sure you're starting over but it'll more likely pay off long term.
Your experience at ACN probably isn't directly comparable to BCG... Exercise some humility?
I got the offer already! Taking a pay cut as well but that’s not as big of a priority for me as experience and exit opps
Did it. Yes! Had two early promotions within BCG since then and made up the time “lost” at ACN
For management consulting? Of course You are not taking two steps back
Welcome to the team!
yup, moving from ACN strat to BCG generalist associate. thanks to everyone for the support, the resounding affirmations make me even more excited to join 😊
I would leave in an instant and I’ve been here for over 2 years
Wait. Is accenture not in same tier as big 4? Always thought they were all similar
Jump. Totally worth it.
It’s no brainer- Move
1.5 years you’re probably an analyst or senior analyst. Even if you didn’t get a money bump (which you will), the prestige and title alone make it worth the move.
Get the offer first
So long as it's a generalist role, I definitely think it's worth it. The answer would be the same even if you're coming from Accenture strategy. Just plan to stay at least 2 years, know what you want to get out of your experience, and you'll be good to go
Congrats! What geography are you in, OP?
What is the difference in work / expectations between big 4 and mbb? Have only worked at bcg, and resumes I’ve seen from big 4 look pretty similar to what we do. Thoughts from folks who’ve made the switch? Mostly just curious
@A1 in NE!
Yeah you should do it. Especially if you want to do more MC/strategy work and are not in a good group for that at acn
