I have a post-MBA offer with Accenture Strategy and I'm seeking advice on whether I should pursue this offer, or if I should continue to recruit for MBB (which may open more doors/opportunities). I previously worked 4 years at Deloitte Consulting. Where do people from Accenture Strategy (not Accenture Management Consulting) tend to go? Is it possible to have similar opportunities as MBB firms or do you have to work harder to get MBB-type opportunities?
MBB can you give your salary progression by level? Sponsored MBA from Accenture Strat - looking to see if I should turn it down for MBB but want to know what the numbers look like
Is implementation work so different from strat? I worked in multiple projects where the client was ex-MBB and they had no clue on how the implementation works.
I’m taking the GMAT in September and would like to include my score on my applications to other firms. Based on what I’m getting in practice, it would significantly improve my resume. However, I heard many firms, particularly MBB, have hiring windows in August, so applying later would hurt my chances. Is this true, and if so, when should I apply? Is it possible to apply earlier and then fill in the recruiter on my GMAT score while I’m in the process?
Its MBB work really that different from the rest of the consultancies? Outside of the branding and the pay that is?
Is it difficult to be hired in an MBB London office as an American? I’m trying to move to be closer to my boyfriend in the EU and have heard internal office transfers are a bit difficult, so should I apply directly to the office instead?
MBB 🐠 I’ve heard that your firms generally only keep the top 20% of newer resources after 2yrs. How true is this? How likely is it for someone to get counseled out at the 2yr mark?
Recently got promoted to M at PwC but looking to switch cause I am bored. Want to stay in consulting but move up to MBB- will they bring me at senior or manager? Is the manager equivalent a principal? Thanks!
Anyone left MBB after 1 year instead of the typical two? How did that go over with other firms/industry companies? Did you have to explain a lot or were they still satisfied just seeing MBB?
Male 🐠: just started dating an MBB consultant. He’s not great about texting during the week but our dates go really well. Is the texting thing just a consultant thing or is he not that interested?
Is MBB (mostly thinking about McKinsey) really that bad in terms of WLB? I feel like people tend to exaggerate things sometimes - i was told i'd be working approximately 65h at Deloitte in Tech Strategy and honestly that barely ever happened. I wasn't considering switching since I love my job and my team, but many people are telling me I shouldn't "waste" my potential at Deloitte (whatever that means...). They kind of got to me and now i'm looking for more info about the culture/work at MBB.
Any MBB folks down to give me feedback/advice on my resume? Also looking for a potential referral if possible. Only if you think I have a chance!
Is the worst over? How is everyone’s firm doing? MBB, Deloitte, Strategy&, EYP, Accenture, etc
For data science roles, senior (L6) at AWS or post MBA level (specialist track, so same pay as generalists) at MBB? Comp is 20% higher at AWS just to start. But maybe looks like MBB has better upside - solid path to promotion to manager level with solid comp increase. But worse WLB and it's unclear to me whether MBB data scientist on the resume is up to par with big tech data scientist on the resume. Coming from big 4 so I am considering brand so I can do better with future resume screens.
Owner of a small agency, here. Am considering making an offer to a partner at Accenture/another MBB to come help build our digital transformation practice. Advice on this strategy and on my outreach?
Do MBB require GRE/SAT scores?
Analyst in a small boutique firm but hoping to move MBB. Any tips on how to position myself, set myself up with experience ahead of networking and applying?
Just got a big raise (50%+) starting July 1st that is going to move me out of income limits for direct Roth IRA contributions (prior to raise was under the limit) even with maxed pretax 401k and HSA - however I am already halfway through contributions ($3000). What options do I have to address these excess contributions?
Who’s leaving PwC? Raise yoooo haaaandddd 🤚
Wow. Just had the most detailed dream about missing a connection in PHL due to issues with the terminal buses that was so vivid and detailed it took me way too long to realize it didn't happen.
Breastfeeding on a zoom call. Yay or nay? Was awkward in the call today. With webcam on. No one said anything but can tell from the faces the bewilderment. 5 people call. 3 women and 2 men. Kept up to point and wrapped the call quickly. I am one of the males btw.
Need help deciding, after big4 audit as a senior is it better to go into a industry accounting role or internal audit if what I’m looking for is less hours but still great pay. I’m leaning towards internal audit since there are no month and year end closing periods. Does anyone have any insight? I’m in a HCOL
Recently I have been exploring a career change but a successful first shot at IUI has me panicking about staying or going. Any lessons learned on how to approach this huge decision?
Overnight flight delay on American due to defect. I paid 300 for a hotel room expecting American to reimburse. They are offering 20k, 200 voucher, & $120 check. AA is refusing to reimburse full 300.
I am new to RR this year. I am excited about this new journey and created this group to hear advice and tips for classroom setup, organization, and time management. Thanks to all who comment!
Woke up this morning feeling like I really want to migrate to the Middle East, any advise on the best consulting firms out there ?
I am sooo tired of people being inconsiderate and thinking I only work for them, when I have 5 different things that I need to get to.
Mothers, how do you keep your life going / live your life for yourself without having all your time sucked up by work and kids? I grew up with a doting stay-at-home mom, so I don’t have many examples of what balanced motherhood looks like. Also, it seems like American society erases your entire identity as a human being beyond “mom” once you have a kid, and I’m not sure how I feel about that. Thinking of having kids someday, but worried I’m too selfish to go for it.
Going into my first round of interviews with BCG a couple of weeks from now. Because of covid, the interviews (a fit and a case) will be over a video call. Any tip on how to handle the case interview on video rather in person?
Anyone nervous about h1b ??
