Is LinkedIn the best place to look for jobs? Is indeed still relevant

You can get poached on LinkedIn. Getting poached is good.

Throwing it out there that Google has a decent jobs search function - pulls in indeed and LinkedIn job postings as well as other sources

Just have to tailor your search terms

Also want to add that I found my current industry gig through the Google jobs search - it pulled in a job posting from the company’s website that I’d somehow filtered out in my LinkedIn search!

Indeed is way better than LinkedIn for job searching, but a balanced search should include them both (and others)

LinkedIn is better

Many recruiters use LinkedIn to post job listings and you can also reach out to recruiters and hiring managers, similarly if you have your profile on open to work, recruiters will also be able to contact you for any relevant opportunities. A well optimise LinkedIn profile is the key as a generic profile with little to no information won’t get as many hits.

i have never used indeed i think. i only use linkedin

If you use Indeed, make sure your resume is ATS compliant. Also, it hasn't been showing me new jobs just old ones even after I refresh it lately. However, I know at least one employer posts jobs on there from first-hand experience.

The best place to look for jobs is the company website.

Has anyone ever asked to renegotiate their salary after starting a job? I’m 2 months into my new job and I have far more responsibilities than what I was told. It’s a lot different than what was relayed in the posting and during the interviews. Additionally, they hired my counter part in as a senior manager which is at least $30k more than what I make. My peer has more experience so I expect that but I feel that I should be paid more, however I don’t want to leave a bad impression… any advice?

I’ve been a licensed general lines (2-20) insurance agent for year and a half and have sold around 2M in premium, of which most of it is personal lines (homeowners, DP), and some commercial lines business. Even though I’m licensed to write my own business, the sole producer in the company is my boss. I currently make 35k + 15k in commissions (approximately). Is this a normal salary? Or how much should I be making? Appreciate your help

Need advice. Have some credit card debt that I’ve been working to pay off. Have made progress but want to lower it quickly. We have dual income, with a house (~$300k in equity), 1 kid and 1 on the way. I’ve looked into debt consolidation via HELOC but also have ~$80k in vested equity in my company that I haven’t touched. Get equity refreshes every year. Would it be smarter to cash out $15k-$20k of that to pay debt vs. a HELOC at ~5% given that will still require mthly payments

Just graduated with Aerospace Engineering degree. I am interviewing for multiple positions at once with different companies. One gave me an offer and they want me to get back to them within 2 days. I still have other interviews scheduled and some for higher paying jobs (around 90k) What should I do?
I do like the company that gave me an offer but their base pay was 80k and they went up to 85k. Is asking for them to match the 90k too much? The position is associate systems engineer.

I am looking to buy a Tudor BlackBay. What sort of a discount can I expect from an AD, for a watch in this price range. The AD called and said he would like to “make me a customer “.
