I wouldn't even be able to tell its Chanel

I only judge my fellow ladies if they can't walk in their shoes or they're wearing something wildly inappropriate, like hot pink stripper heels (true story). Otherwise who cares

like

Um no. People bring in Chanel purses and Celine bags. Most people may not be able to afford it as an associate (or even senior associate) but honestly as long as you're not like OMG LOOK AT MY CHANEL SHOES, I'm sure no one will even notice. Be humble about it and no one will even care.

Why not ... Just wear nice shoes, people will appreciate nice things. People that despise others wearing nice shoes are hateful to begin with

Accountants are conservative , and wearing Chanel attire in a middle-class work environment might raise a few eyebrows as it might raise questions of how you handle your money. Unless everyone knows you come from old money or something. Not that it's anybody's business. Do you 👍🏻

like

What's a Chanel?

like

Can't help but notice whenever someone is wearing loubitin because of the red soles...I like it though. No one in DC dresses well, so it's nice when someone makes more of an effort on occasion

like

^ no, long champ is like Tory Burch. Still Affordable. Can't compare long champ to Chanel or Hermes or Ferragamo lol

like

^ aka .. haters gon' hate

like

The um no is no you won't get crap for it. **

I appreciate a good shoe game.

it's accounting you worked hard for your money and no one should give you shit if you want to indulge a little. Take a look around and see what kind or purses people are caring. They are dropping some cash for those and no one gives them crap.

Is long champ considered "dropping cash"? Just wondering

Just got let go and my manager said part of it was because I was looking for other jobs. I didn't look for other jobs at work, so I'm not sure how they could have known that unless a coworker snitched on me. Is it worth it to try and find out who or should I just leave it? Can't deny that I'm seriously pissed off about it.

I’m a new analyst at a PE firm, and my associate keeps blaming me for things she does wrong. Like she will tell me I made the wrong change, even though she is the one who changed it. Or in calls with other people, she won’t take responsibility for things that she told me to do that the other person calls out as wrong. How can I handle this situation without making her mad but also not letting her step all over me?

like

Mid-level when she's leading the call: please make sure you take notes. It's expected of the person not leading a call (note I always take notes)

Me(jr): asked to lead a call for a different deal as training. Mid-level doesn't take notes (also on call) and tells me it's the job if the junior to take notes.
