If you think it’s just EY you are a bit delusional, it’s across all professional services. Most people get tired of it and just end up leaving to start fresh
It’s the innovation of technology and automation that allows us to do more, with less!
/sarcasm.
It’s all the big 4. You have to be a special combination of blinded, stubborn, and incompetent to make up firm leadership at Big 4 these days. Take your 50-100% pay bump and 25-50% cut in hours elsewhere. You’ll realize what a clown show all these boomer partners are when you leave - Consultant who makes twice as much for the half the effort at a company that wasn’t founded in the 1800s
The higher powers keep thinking it's a small % of rebels wanting more out of their job and it'll all settle soon.
I think the only way for them to listen and do right by us is to keep jumping around and communicating on platforms like this to make an educated decision on our place of employment.
Not just Big 4 but all consulting companies!
I would say from my friends talking that deloitte is kind of ok, the other 3 are tone deaf. Can vary office to office/team to team but i left last year and my friends still at KPMG feel similar to you, friends currently at DT are at least getting the retention bonuses and better raises
C suite level leaders are usually delusional about the real reasons people leave or the nature of their business. The bigger the company, the more they're disconnected from reality. Just the nature of large organizations.
