MDW. Keep in mind, MDW is basically the Southwest Hub of the Midwest and has a few Delta flights.
Delta kept Northwest at MDW (because they can’t get more at ORD) and basically only flies to old NW hubs and major DL hubs from there.
I fly out of ORD, I’ve never been to MDW and I can attest that MDW is better.
It also depends on where you live. If you’re in the city then the reduction in travel time alone by flying out of MDW is worth it
Midway is so, so much better in the morning. Absolute trash options for coffee until 6:00 am though
MDW is so much better. I have been doing weekly travel for 5 years now and finally just switch to SWA - so. much. better.
After 8 years of travel thru ORD switched to MDW. Def losing the points with AA but so much worth it. For a 8am flight i can wake up at 6am, pack, get ready, leave and be at the gate to board at 7:30am. I am in the south loop. Sleep and time is precious and okay to lose points over this.
They recently implemented a taxi-esque line at MDW for ridesharing so you don’t have to wait forever for your car to show up. Really nice change.
For what it’s worth live in-between ORD and MDW, was previously flying ORD for a long time. MDW all the way if you’re OK with SW
Why is Midwest better? (Better food and drink at airport? Easier access? More flights? Etc.). Always done OHare so curious to know where the difference is
Travel time from the city, fewer people, shorter lines
Thanks everyone for your perspective!
Flight out of ORD at 5am every Monday. Never had an issue. Usually a ghost town that early so I guess it depends on your flight time
MDW is better though they don’t have Starbucks
