Is promotion easier in different DTE’s or does budget and number of promotes tend to be similar across the board?

For a top Producer of 3 years, is it appropriate to now ask for a raise in my base pay? Base was 42,500 when I started, but now inflation + 2 children later the base pay barely gets me by. Any thoughts are greatly appreciated!

Hello all, I’m planning for a career switch. As I’m currently in Finance sector and planning to quit my job and to start my career in IT Hardware companies like: HP, Dell and Lenovo etc.. Before taking this jump I want to know how is the career growth in IT Hardware, how is the promotion structure in such companies. Anyone else been told that for non-promotion years to expect an average of 5% raise and an average of 10% raise for promotion years? This is at a Top 25 Midwest accounting firm. Calculated my projected salary for the next 5 years and decided to find another firm. Much happier now 😊

I work for a small firm (about 20 attorneys) and make 90k. I’m coming up for a raise discussion in a couple of months but don’t know how to go about it/what is reasonable to ask for. @Capco what’s the comms/content space like? I’ve heard lots of mixed reviews re: consultancy jobs, but that’s not my focus. I ask as I’m looking into a potential position at Capco, but concerned I could be leaving a more “secure” company (BofA) for a raise at another org. that has a lot of room for improvement.
