Don’t listen to the noise, it mostly comes from underachieving gremlins who can’t get promoted

lol was just referring to mixed views on RSM. In my opinion our concurring review process and training program elevates the quality of a deliverable above most firms. I’ve seen some Big4 and A&M reports / workbooks and was shocked at the quality (or lack thereof) - for reference I’m an ex Big 4 TAS senior myself. We certainly do pay below B4 but as a manager I would say the WLB is worth it.
I just accepted a SA FDD role with RSM moving from Assurance. I really liked the people and vibe during the interview process.
Culture has definitely declined. Firm is focused on operating leaner which means being on more deals at any given point. Additionally they gave small bonuses and raises this year. Place feels like a sinking ship.
It used to be a marked improvement compared to Big 4 culture - feels like we’re moving towards big4 culture with LMM pay (all while working on some very large deals)
Depends on the team
Lean deal team means more than likely it’s just you and one other Director. As a SA, you’ll be expected to run 90% of the deals. Wlb is marginally better than B4 but compensation is 10k to 30K below B4 depending on level.
As a director ive never had an SA run anywhere close to 90% of a deal other than limited scope projects. Moreso commenting this to point out the huge variance in individual's experience amongst any large firm
Most the posts on fishbowl about everything is complaining. I wouldn't rely much on anything posted here
