What are your client follow-up/communication policies or practices? I’m hearing more and more that clients don’t like the long periods of time with little to no contact. From my perspective, since I bill for my time, unless I have an update or need something, I don’t initiate a call. Also, clients hold on to important info and don’t initiate a call cause they’re waiting for me to communicate with them.

Recruiter from Amazon reached out for a phone screen for a L7 role st Amazon - Principal Product Manager, Technical. I'm a first year M and have been in consulting mostly. I do have the technical expertise the role requires but no product management experience per se. Think L7 at Amazon for me is a reach. My concern is if I interview and fail, I will be barred from interviewing from another role for 6 to 12 months. Should I give it a shot or save my chance for something more realistic (e.g. L6)?

Any insight into the Product Development Specialist role at Facebook? My goal is product management and I am currently a strategy consultant with 3 YOE (not technical), but this seems like a possible path toward that goal. The initial total comp brought up was only $110K (base, bonus, stock), which is barely more than I am making now, though they said there was room to negotiate on the stock portion.

Need some advice. Had final interview with practice lead on Wednesday but haven’t heard back from HR. Is it bad taste to send him a thank you note and wishing him a good weekend?

Ideal firms in the DC area to exit to for Strategy/Business Ops roles? Obviously would love FAANG, but they have limited strategy roles in the area

Where can consulting beat tech in TC? I’ve been doing some analysis and the only area I can find where consulting pay can sometimes beat tech pay (not just FAANG, even lower tier tech companies) is at the partner level and even then tech can sometimes make more. Am I wrong in this analysis, and if I’m not, why should someone junior in consulting stay if they stand to lose out on hundreds of thousands of dollars by not switching to tech (assuming they can)?
