Hi Fishes, I am bit confused to pick the role in KPMG lighthouse as Sr Cloud Data architect or Saama technology as a Project lead. Money wise it is not a big difference. In KPMG I will work with partner where as in saama I will work with project/program manager. Please suggest your opinion. Saama KPMG KPMG India

Without knowing more about your situation, it seems like the right play.
If you have the skills to SWE in tech, you're probably getting underpaid in B4 compared to big tech.
I would say you should look at the career path of a big tech SWE and compare it to someone with a similar skillset as you in your firm and see what works for you.
It is true that moving from tech to non tech is easier. However there more more staff/principal SWE positions in industry than there are in consulting. As you get higher up in consulting, my impression is that your technical skills are more around architecting, which help you support and drive sales.
to new grad programs. Is there anything I should consider before making the switch? Anything I might regret? I feel like the chance of getting pigeonholed into something random and not very exciting is very high as an analyst. I also always hear that it is easier to go from technical to not instead of vise versa in a career so there’s always the possibility of returning to consulting after a couple of years if I miss it. Can’t say the same about software engineering. Thoughts? (2/2)
