History of BCG layoffs anyone?
Hello, can someone with amazon provide guidance on how to properly follow up after submitting my application for a non-tech role. Its so refreshing to see this comment and for employees to have that much confidence in their CEO.
We do not lay off (or at least haven’t done a “cut x% of employees”, even during the ‘08 or COVID crises), but we will almost certainly slow down our hiring
We have already slowed down hiring in the majority of teams
No layoffs but in turn our market has had a really strict hiring freeze. Our team had to go through a lengthy approval process to hire 1 person as backfill for two roles, with a sold project role waiting for them.
Strict hiring freezes help us prevent the need to lay off our people during tough times.
Headcount reduction would really be an option of last resort
There is a serious upside to managing through this economic climate with layoffs. From a brand reputation standpoint, our prestige in the consulting world goes up, it’s a “wow” story to share with our clients which reinforces the fiercely human brand angle and makes a dedicated/loyal workforce who will feel valued.
If we get through unscathed it’s a major win over the long-term of any expenses endured due to headcount costs in the event the pipeline dries up
