Hello fam. T&E is back online.
Hi Infosys guys, I have cleared one technical interview and got email for further round which is planned for tomorrow. Email mentions that this is a telephonic interview, is this supposed to be an HR round discussing salary or another tech round.
SAP SD - 2 YOE Current CTC is 4.8LPA.
how much should I ask at infy? Position offered is associate consultant. Thanks in advance.
I recently interviewed for L7 EM at Google and had 4 great interviews and one not so great system design. I submitted external referrals all of which gave great feedback. The recruiter said the next step is team match/interviews and then the HC. Anyone in a similar situation? What was the result? Google

The first $1500 luxury isn't golden handcuffs. A habit of buying $1500 luxuries is where you run into trouble.
So the vacuum is a gateway drug?

IMO, golden handcuffs are more about ongoing expenses that you would still incur after you take a significant pay cut. For instance, if you take out a large mortgage or a loan for an expensive car, it’s harder to take a significant pay cut when your ongoing expenses are higher.

Agreed - the golden handcuff equivalent here would be getting used to spending $200+/mo on a cleaning service.
It’s cheaper than birthing a child who won’t be conditioned to vacuum for at least a decade, and even then, will ultimately whine about the task.
Not sure I agree with this. Maybe my 2-year-old has a manufacturing defect, but he is outright obsessed with using our Shark vacuum and would rather play with that than any toy.

No, those things only appreciate in value. Think of it as an investment in your children’s future.

$1,500 for a robo-vaccuum is nothing. Having kids is the ultimate golden handcuff.

Or it will swallow one of their toys.
This isn’t what golden handcuffs is. Golden handcuffs is when you upgrade your lifestyle with recurring expenses that you can’t just dump if you lose your job. A big mortgage, car payments, private school, etc.
This is the real answer of course

Are we sure OP works in Big Law and not Big Robo Vacuum? Very sneaky ad they’re running on fish bowl…

I love my Dreame Robo L10s Ultra. I purchased it on eBay for $299. Reburbished in like new condition and sold direct from Dreame after they switched to their new product line with upgraded specs. It works great and no financial hangover.

Go with the newest Roborock. Mops and vacuums. Have a 6500 square ft house. Using it downstairs for 3 years. Still going strong. Maps out the house.
Came here also to say roborock. But appears OP went with a different brand.
I would say yes. That seems a little excessive.
I love my roborock!

Nah, you’re thinking of the Cartier LOVE bracelet…

If I could go back in time, I’d probably buy 20 years worth of luxury bday/anniversary gifts because the damned things seem to go up 20% every time I look at it!
Nope, the robot vacuums are pretty good now. They weren’t worth a splurge even a couple of years ago but are there now.

It’s a sign. The second an associate shows up with an expensive care I now what time it is …
Hah! That’s funny. We also flip expensive watches (Rolexes and Pateks). But we figured out how to have that stuff short term while also making a profit because we have relationships with all the ADs in our area and the managers of the exotic car dealerships. It’s fun but yea if you’re just buying and holding, you’re for sure losing money like crazy
Any recommendations for robot vacuums?
I have a prior version of Dreame and it is worth every penny. Highly recommend because you certainly don’t have time to be vacuuming and mopping!
I hated my old Roomba, but it was a purchase made 5+ years ago.
So now the Chinese gov has a layout of your home?
I mean do it if you want. But my 200 dollar robot vacuum works really well and it means I only have to use my actual vacuum about 50%-75% less
I mean maybe if you finance it and put up your house for collateral or something? Otherwise I don’t see how a $1500 vacuum would stop you from leaving big law.
In addition to the robot vacuum, might I suggest hiring a cleaner to come by a few times a month. It’s not expensive and it has significantly improved my quality of life (and saved my relationship)!
I paid 450 dollars for mine and it was on sale. Think it definitely keeps things manageable by letting it run sometimes while I’m busy. It mops and vacuums.
Get a cleaner. At the end of the day, you’ll still need one for the rest of your home (or bathroom/kitchen).
