No, but there are a ton of Persians practicing in LA, does that count?
Ok bud. Here we go with the “I have a black friend so I’m not racist” argument.
Believe me, I’m an Iranian American who lives in LA, went to school, college, and law school in LA, and pretty much most of my close friends are Iranian. If you can’t tell, let me spell it out: I bet all of monies in my pockets against all of your monies in your pockets, that unless you’re a rabbi or live in Israel, you probably hang out with fewer Jews than I do. And let me tell you: It. Does. Not. Matter.
Knowing Jewish people doesn’t make you (or me) an expert on antisemitism and tell you what: your Jewish friends don’t represent all Jews and just because they may be ok with something doesn’t mean it’s not antisemitic. I’m an Iranian-American atheist, and I can tell that a burning cross is racist, I can tell when someone says an antisemitic trope, and I can tell when somebody is ignorant about the Iranian theocracy’s evil acts in Iran. Try again? Be better. I believe in you.
Additionally, I’m not defending Zionism. People define that word differently and often ridiculously, and then attack what they think it is. Saying that the Iranian regime being evil is just Zionist propaganda is peak ignorance, and yes, antisemitic.
