Is there such thing as a mild conservative agencies?
Starting to feel that the advertising world is very discriminating against conservatives or even mild conservatives. I strongly believe and support abortion, I’m strongly against biological men in women sports. I support men marrying men and women marrying women. I don’t believe in they/them, you are either male or female.

Do you think biological men in women’s sports is a huge issue? Does men marrying men and women marrying women affect you and have any bearing on your personal life? And how would either of these beliefs change an agency’s output or culture? You’re tired of trans men dominating at agency kickball night?

They call these things “wedge issues” for a reason. The right blows things up to make them seem like these big, looming issues when really, they’re small things that are none of our business while rolling back the things that matter.

You probably won’t find one because most agencies are staffed with smart people. You’re definitely not going to find an agency that sides with you on those issues because that would be insane.

likesmarthelpful

You said you wanted to work at a less liberal company, then listed your beliefs, which all seemed pretty liberal except for they/them and trans people in sports.

If I’m wrong and there’s more to it, please correct me. You made the post.

And again, OP, since you seem to have trouble reading, I didn’t say you should support men in women’s sports. I said- and many others have said- that it’s not a real issue. 100 trans athletes in a country of 300 million people is not an “issue.”

Conservatives are perfectly fine. I’m a conservative.

MAGA voters however are not.

I sure as hell don’t want to work with anyone that proudly and willfully dumb. Especially since he told them straight out what a disaster his 2nd term would be and STILL those morons voted for him to upend all our lives.

likesmart

With respect, I would strongly suggest learning more about human biology. The basic binary of male and female is not supported by science. Not in animals, not in humans. This is not a political argument and never should have been made into one.

Additionally, the incidence of transgender people in sports is so low that it’s completely ridiculous that you should even be factoring it in to your worldview, let alone your job search. Seriously, it’s thought to be around 100 people across a country of 340 million. Why in the world would it bother you enough that you’re uncomfortable if people disagree with you about it? Why do you even concern yourself with it?

likefunnysmart

Well said. I'd add that it's worth stopping to think why Trump, Musk, and the rest of the maga morons are so focused on such a frankly inefficient thing to spend time on given rate of incidence (look into that, DOGE)....wonder if it's because they are doing everything they can to distract you from the nefarious / criminal things they themselves are doing.

OP, There are plenty of us moderate-conservative or libertarian leaning people in every agency. We just keep our mouths shut because we are in a sea of bleeding heart progressive liberals. (FYI I am also a woman and do not fear any setbacks in women’s rights.)

Here’s the good news: none of the issues you described up there is a conservative point of view. This is because the bedrock principle of conservatism is that government regulation into the Constitutionally protected rights of the individual is by definition not a conservative. I don’t believe in that myself, but that’s the core principle of that ideology regardless of how far MAGA veered from it.

If you’re asking me if there are conservative agency philosophies like ones that believe in states rights and no taxes? Yeah man they’re everywhere.

likefunnysmart

Conservatives typically want smaller government - get out of my wallet, my house, my bedroom. Fix the stuff govt is supposed to work on. Let the states manage things not assigned to the federal government. And stop spending our money on stupidity.

like

For one, everyone in the comments here acting like “DOES IT EVEN EFFECT YOU IF A TRANS PERSON USES WHATEVER BATHROOM THEY LIKE??” are probably the same people crying about Gaza and Ukraine constantly. So they can keep their traps shut when it comes to caring about something that doesn’t “effect” you.

As if we’re only allowed to care about healthy 15 year old girls getting brainwashed into cutting their breasts off if it “effects” us. But of course, even if they were our own daughters, these same people would tell you you’re a bigot and monster for not wanting her to. You can’t win with these people, so don’t bother. Yes, you have to let a man spike a volleyball into your daughters face, giving her brain damage, and you have to not only be okay with it, but celebrate it!

Which brings me to my next point, answering your question. This industry is sooooo far left. Always has been. Here’s a lesson for you, just take their money. Show up to work, smile and nod when you’re in the meetings where everyone is celebrating Black people just because. Smile and nod when they hold an “all hands meeting” to introduce the new head of DEI and VP of Strategic Inclusion. Go to the stupid company cultural events where 20 white people in their 40s gather around to listen to the “lived experience” of some grifter they brought in to give a “talk.”

Just take their money. They’re not going to have it much longer so you might as well get it before the well dries up. Brands are slashing budgets, AI is rapidly disturbing multiple channels of creative output, the massive holding companies are merging and dying, overhead is too big. This industry is going to be a shell of its former self in 10-15 years. Brand bringing more and more in house.

Just take the idiot’s money while they have it. And then go quietly vote against all of their stupid priorities every other November. There is something so satisfying about duping these destructive idiots into thinking you’re one of them, only to be playing them the like fiddles they are.

This comment is a great example of straw man arguments and scare tactics. Kids aren’t being forced into things. I was one of those kids actually forced the opposite way and usually family is against it from the beginning regardless of the actual reality. So to act like everyone is just catering to everything is outlandish. Kids are not rushed into surgery rooms like people would have you believe. Also, the narrative of danger in the bathroom or someone spiking a ball into a girls face is ridiculous. Most trans women I’ve run into and I’ve interacted with hundreds are not these specimens of athletes like the right propaganda and old have you believe. I’m 5’5” and when I play rec league there are plenty of women that run circles around me in sports. But they still assume I’m this 6’4” D1 sports player without ever having met me yet I meet SO many women that are taller than me all the time.

It’s been very hard seeing everyone say how dangerous I am when it couldn’t be farther from the truth. It’s crazy that people are so scared of my existence when I am a parent, a friend, a child, a coworker just like anyone else. People are sensationalizing fears about trans people that aren’t even real.

Just wanted to say in 2025 people shouldn’t be able to say “I support men marrying men” it should just be the way of the world and it’s sad that it’s not. Why are we still debating this? This is why conservatives ruin everything.

like

My point was it shouldn’t be something you need to call out, it should just be a standard way of thinking.

Well, lucky for you, whether or not you “believe” in trans/nonbinary people doesn’t matter. They exist and the science is there to show that gender is much more fluid than most of us actually understand. But that’s just it. You don’t have to understand it or “believe” in it to just be a decent human and let people be themselves and be happy.

There are literally less than 10 trans athletes in the NCAA right now. But the administration wants you to “believe” that it is a huge issue that is taking over the world. So maybe do a modicum of research and learn about the science and how the issue is really being worked through in athletics instead of just deciding that because you don’t understand it that it’s fake or immoral.

I don't think being "strongly against biological men in women sports" makes you a conservative necessarily, it just makes you a bigot. Or just severely misinformed on the actual "severity" of this issue.

There's roughly 300k trans kids in the US of high school age. And by no means are all of them athletes/playing sports. But the ones that do/are is so minuscule, all you're doing by being "strongly against" this is further alienating a population of CHILDREN who are just trying to be kids.

And speaking as someone who has played in both girls/women's sports along with co-ed leagues throughout my life... I'm sorry but honestly what is the problem with having mixed gendered sports. If anything, playing with people of different strengths and skillsets only allowed me to improve. And don't get me started on the hormone/muscle mass differences because women have incredibly varied levels of testosterone just naturally. A trans-woman athlete does not automatically have the ability to outperform or dominate a cis girl/woman athlete.

Do you even know anyone who is transgender? Because if you did, I don't think you would feel this way. And if you don't, then that alone should tell you this is very much a non-issue because the population is so freaking small. They're not (nor are they capable of) taking over women's sports. And honestly if there was even just ONE on every high school sport team, who fucking cares.

Let's just assume you're not a hateful person and are just incredibly misinformed. Because why else would you feel so scared/threatened by a group of people who pose no threat to you whatsoever.

likesmart

Great, but as SD2 pointed out, that isn’t really happening, so you can stop freaking out about it.

SD2, don’t waste your breath on OP. She’s misinformed and thinks men are joining women’s sports everywhere, but if you try to inform her, she’ll just stop listening. Not worth it.

So, you are definitely a conservative. And part of being conservative is feeling victimized because of your beliefs. And you're right! You are being hated for your beliefs, which, unlike being gay, or black or whatever, are something that are not actually protected by the constitution. Oh well.

But they can share the blame for what’s happening.

But what do your personal world views and opinions have to do with the work you do? Are you representing specifically a trans athlete? If not, then it's not a issue that needs to be brought up at work.
