Is this a dead end job?

Kind of seems like it. Year after year, same sh*t different day. The challenges will be different and varying every year. However, unless someone above you retires or leaves, there’s little room for growth. And if capgemini is anything like RSM, they’ll never look to a broader pool of people to see who’s qualified for a promotion. Rather, they’ll tap someone on the shoulder who is longest tenured in the role.

Great question.

Have an offer from a dream company but I'll need to go in at a lower level. Knowing that I can bring a lot of value to the company (read- I know my worth), I negotiated with the hiring manager to have a level/comp review 6 months after employment. If I hit all my goals (ie, prove myself) within that time frame, I'll get a promotion and salary adjustment.
QUESTIONS:
Should this be in writing in the offer letter?
How detailed should it be? I assume I won't know what goals to set till I start...

Are there many legitimate ethical hurdles when switching from insurance defense to plaintiff’s work? I’ve always seen myself as a plaintiff’s lawyer, but ultimately took an ID job out of law school (better salary, no real opportunities at plaintiffs firms that I liked). I like what I do—so far—but I’m constantly thinking about whether the grass is greener.
