It's looking like I'll be laid off soon - my job's in consultancy at the moment.

Apparently the MD wants us to work our full notice, with full client-facing work, after being notified we're being laid off. This seems like a terrible (and potentially costly) choice for the company.

I know 'gardening leave' isn't legally required, but is there any way I could fight my case for gardening leave without 'going nuclear'?
