In a bit of a conundrum, I work for a boutique firm focused on a particular industry and just got an offer from another boutique firm focusing on the same industry but smaller (10% of our size). Jump in title and maybe a 10%+ up increment (can negotiate more). The role will be 2ic to the regional lead. Started a new job a year ago, high performer. My manager suggested a promotion to Product Manager since that‘s the work I’m doing, but that would be a 50% raise. Higher ups decided instead to make a “new role” (not PM), that has no analog in the company and is hard to price via Glassdoor, etc. I feel like this is to limit my promotion salary to something like 10% from where it currently is. So be prepared for very less hikes in coming cycle :( Also automotive sector in general is struggling with tesla laying off 10% workforce recently. Maybe time to make a move? What do you say fishes?
