I’ve been an account manager for over 5 years now, managing everything from small startups to Fortune 500 clients, and I’m starting to think about what’s next. I like the relationship side of the role, but the constant context-switching and pressure are wearing me down. I’m torn between specializing or pivoting into something adjacent like marketing or ops. Hello, I am in USI GES tax at DUSI. I love my job but not my team and mgmt anymore. I'm a performer and I'm dumped with work of 2 ppl while others are searching for work. I am burned out.

I resigned and accepted a job with EY GDS with a huge pay bump that DUSI can't match but I also gave up my potential promotion for 2023.

I've been feeling bad about putting my papers down and letting go off my promotion but I am really tired. I took up this job as an escape.

Bit of a niche topic: I’ve been in TS/SCI processing for a Science/Tech/Weapons analyst position with the CIA for 3 yrs since I finished grad school in chemistry, but CIA positions are sort of set it and forget it since they can take so long. I’ve since been focused on a Patent Attorney track and am with a firm that will support me taking the patent bar/law school. If I get through processing and go to the CIA for some time, do you think would I be accepted back into patent law later on?

Is it a viable business opportunity for a mid level patent litigation associate to leave BigLaw and consult? Service could include pre-litigation diligence (e.g., pre-litigation infringement analysis) for funding companies and law firms, overflow work, consulting for patent prosecution firms that take on ipr or litigation work, litigation consulting for tech companies that don’t have in-house counsel. I am currently in Wipro having CTC as 7.8 LPA.. I have got an offer from TCS which is 11LPA.However, my Basic Pay/Fixed compensation is getting reduced from my current base pay in the new offer and also the HRA is getting reduced. The HR is telling that the basic is fixed as per policy and they cannot change it. The base pay is less but there are several other components which are higher. Should I take up the new offer? Please help. Will the reduction in base pay impact my career?

Right so here’s a bit of a dilemma I work to a much higher standard at home and it’s this high standard that means I’m in line for a promotion. I’ve grown so much and I feel really strong in my role I’m also busier than ever. The problem is we’re going back into the office and I don’t want to go in if it’s just going to be senior management in asking me to get them lunches for client meetings or fetch a glass of water and cutlery for meeting rooms. Definitely not ready to go back to that….
