I’ve been taking the “evening shift” on client calls (client is pst, I’m est) for the last 2 weeks and I was supposed to have the night off but my coworker bailed because “they don’t want to sit on meetings all night.”

They are more senior than me and I understand it’s my role as the associate to take the L’s for stuff like this but damn I wanted the night off.

I do trivia every Thursday night, it’s one of my regenerative activities, and I can’t go because I have to fill in for the fill in

Hows the work and work/life balance at full-service agencies vs a media agency. I'm a media planner coming from a full-service agency and I'm wondering if it will be a step backward going to a media focused agency.

This past year was/is the worst in my life by far. Aside from all the Covid mess we’ve all dealt with I lost a parent, an in-law, my spouse has decided they no longer want to be married and my grandmother is in hospice with days left. I believe this was/is my least productive year in my career as a result. I’m worried my job won’t be here in a few months and I’m doing my best to hold it together. Sorry to be a downer but I just needed to throw my worries out there in hopes they never come back.

We have sales people in Canada and the US, the Canadians make 150K CAD and down here it’s 150K USD, the Canadians argue they should be making 30% more than the US colleagues to be equal bc of the exchange! I explain the salary is dependent on the market data for them in Canada, WHERE THEY LIVE, and you can’t compare it to the US employees and the market data down here. Overall they are both in the 75th% for total comp. for their industry. Am I wrong?
