Dude just do an iftar w a prayer area; no harm no foul
Combine food with knowledge sessions. Invite muslims to speak about growing up Muslim (not just in America but other countries). Talk about Umrah/Hajj, invite interfaith leaders to come have civil dialogue. A lot of fear about Islam is driven by a lack of knowledge, and a lack of knowing actual good Muslims.
Ramadan is coming up, and that’s a great time to host “Iftar” events with other non-muslims, especially since the days are still short. Eid is another way to celebrate inclusively. Explain why we pray 5 times a day, or how we are more similar to Christianity/Judaism than non-muslims may know. There are so many ideas, just keep it simple. Start small and build up to it
Totally over thinking it. You have an opportunity to share your beliefs and meet some new people. Doesn’t have to be a dinner. And even if it is, it doesn’t mean you have to miss your prayer.
