I’ve been working on the same assay for about 18 months and I’m basically the only one who knows how it runs end to end now. There’s an opportunity to switch onto a newer project, but I’d be starting from scratch while someone else takes over what I built. Do you stay where you’re valuable or move before you get stuck as “the only person who knows this”?

If you become irreplaceable in a role then you can’t be promoted. Not a trap you want to fall into. If you move-on, you can add “Handover”, “Building a new project from scratch”, and “Learning/teaching yourself new skills” to your CV. Just make sure that the handover phase is finite, otherwise you’ll end-up with two jobs rather than one.

There’s a debit card that I’ve been using for the past 4 years and it beats out some of the cash back credit cards. It’s the Cash app debit card. I haven’t heard people talk about it in the card community and it could save people a bit of money - 10% cash back. I posted about it on my Instagram HerMillennialMoney if you want to learn my tips and tricks with the care.

I could use some advice on this situation. I’ve been working for a small family owned business in Toronto Canada for about 4months. I’ve noticed a lot of unprofessional behaviour since I’ve started (yelling at workers infront of customers) I’ve bounced around different positions so much that the owner blames 98% of stuff on me when something isn’t done, even if it’s not my responsibility anymore.A week ago I asked for an employment contract to get this straight but nothing yet. What do I do?
