I've been searching for a paid internship for a while now, to practice the CPT. As per the university, work authorization will be issued against a valid job offer with a role aligned to what I'm studying.

However, after filing over 500 job applications, I am yet to receive any positive response.

Are private companies easier to work at than public companies in accounting? We have such an accelerated close deadline at the publicly traded company I’m at now, I really hate the inflexible tight deadlines and analysis seems to drag on forever after that. We also close AP/AR very early in the month yet that doesn’t stop payments/receipts from happening so we’re constantly adjusting our accruals until the end of month. Do private companies start their close after the month actually ends?
