I’ve worked exclusively in private companies and have grown into an Accounting Lead role. Recently, I’ve been looking to transition into public accounting to build my experience, especially in tax.

I’ve even applied for Senior Accountant roles in private companies, but many still require public accounting experience. I’m finding it very difficult to break into public accounting, even when I’m willing to start at a lower level just to gain exposure and grow in that space.

Any advice?
