Job offer in San Diego. Coming from DC as a 25 year old. Suggestions on neighborhoods? Working in Pt Loma. Also, any thoughts on what life there is like? Type of people to expect, cost of living, etc

Following. Really thinking of moving to San Diego

like

It’s laid back. Depends what lifestyle you’re looking for

1. Chula Vista and Mira Mesa - burbs if you work and travel to cities and prefer quiet times on the weekend

2. Pacific Beach fresh graduate 21-25 age group a lot of Crazy drinking memories

3. Ocean beach/Northpark - young professional theme casual drinking and dining

4. Downtown SD. City life, night life like any other city

like

San Diego is so sick. Mission Valley if you’re looking to buy and see a return. Pac/Ocean Beach if you want beach town vibes. Uptown/downtown if you’re looking for city vibes.

California isn’t cheap, but I think SD is a little cheaper than DC even after adding the cost of car ownership

like

Totally laid back lifestyle - work to live, not live to work. Amazing weather year round - you’ll think 65 is cold in a matter of weeks. You’ll have a lot of former military, but also the start-up group - esp w/ bio tech due to Scripps and such. There’s also the north county area - say Del Mar north that is more suburbs, but has some awesome beach towns. Agree with statements around downtown and PB neighborhoods. I’d be there in a heartbeat if I didn’t have to do east coast travel every week

like

I've also heard from some that the population of the city skews college aged or much older, any truth to that? North Park also looks great

like

M1 is on the dot. What are you looking for exactly, OP?

like

La jolla.

North park is great op, my brother lives there, pt loma will be expensive, well actually most places are expensive in SD but it is a small area from north county down to the border so it's not too bad a commute if traffic is cooperating, which it won't do on any weekend or 7-10am 3:30-7 weekdays

Lots of bros

I have 4 YOE in a 3PL company as a Senior Sales Executive in the warehousing and local transportation business verticals, achieving a humble S$1.5 million ARR in outbound sales, contract retainer up to 5 years. Just trying my luck here to see if there’s anyone who’s able to refer me to a reputable logistics firm. I am willing to explore other business verticals such as air/sea freight as well. Any insights about TC are welcomed

New in TCS but couldn't understand PF procedure and it's deduction from salary.
I am paying PF of amount 2040 getting deducted 2 times from my salary 1st according to CTC and after salary is getting credited then again same amount is deducted, so my question is this correct.
CTC is: PF+ 76185
Salary is: 76185-PF.
PF: 2040 so it's getting deducted 2 times same amount every month. Before salary is paid and after.

Our teachers will be returning to our school building as usual (about 10 days before school starts) whether school is virtual or face to face, so our school is wanting to plan a traditional welcome back for them. In the past, the celebration was usually a whole school group event at on off-campus locale. Unfortunately, with social distancing, etc., it makes it quite difficult to do the big gathering. Just wondering what other schools may be planning to welcome back their teachers. Suggestions??
