Has anyone left healthcare and is now really happy? I’m an MSN, RN with 12 years hospital experience. I’m burned out and tired of making crap pay. I have an opportunity outside of healthcare that would pay more and challenge me in new ways that I haven’t experienced before. It’s a total shift that would really heal my work-life balance, job satisfaction and budget. My only fear is that I would not be using the license and degree that I worked so hard for. I would appreciate any input!!!!

Got an offer at a boutique firm, they are offering mid-100k (3 YOE, but I’m retooling). Great opportunity (like, I really love everything about it), and I’m prepared to take a pay cut, but the salary seems especially low. I’m a new patent prosecution associate and unfortunately only just now realized that maybe prosecuting patents isn’t something I want to do long term. I loved copyright (and trademark) in law school, but I have loans to pay off. Should I stick it out in my current role to pay them off before I jump ship to a new practice area or will I be pigeonholed forever to patents if I stay here for 2-3 years?

Still learning the music business but have been in it for past few years. Built great relationships with a lot of artists at labels - i don’t have a law degree but would it be possible to partner with an attorney and source deals for them in exchange for a commission?

I need to know if I’ve pigeon-holed myself. I have an undergrad in music business, and got a lot of good experience then. I’m taking the NY bar in February and FL bar in July. Any advice on getting into a contracts drafting role or in-house for a record label in either of these states? My experience is limited to only taking entertainment law and a contracts drafting course in law school (limited availability of entertainment related courses at my school)

Currently work in-house for a luxury house of fashion brands in NYC and want to make a move to a law firm focused on media, entertainment, technology. I currently handle commercial transactions in the marketing/advertising space (e.g., production, talent, licensing agreements). What firms would you recommend that I target? I am open to all sizes so long as the firm is highly rated and reputable.

Curious if anyone else is or has been in the same boat. I started as an assistant at my firm prior to passing the bar. Upon passing, the partner told me they would hire an assistant for me since I now became an associate. That was 1.5 years ago and I am still in the limbo of juggling my own workload + doing assistant roles for my supervisors. I have also had no increase in pay, which is a huge deal for me. Is this normal in the entertainment world? Any suggestions?

My client’s video was aired on television without a license. The video’s use does not fall within fair use. The production company removed the video from its website once they were informed in order to mitigate economic harm. Can my client bring an action? If so, what can he seek in monetary damages? Any insight would be very much appreciated. Thank you.
