I'm def taking a wait-and-see. I think that block-chain tech is very exciting generally, but I feel it has a much more limited application in the media/entertainment/IP fields than what the hype (yes, I said the H-word) suggests.
At the end of the day, it's simply a transaction verification system with an admittedly great anti-fraud/theft mechanism built in. I think it could have TREMENDOUS potential in the area of IP transactions. The idea of "smart contracts" (which to me seems more like just a de-centralized eschrow management system; removing the need for an eschrow agent) is cool. And the idea of being able to use a Copyright Office token to register a transfer or option, for instance, instead of going through the rigamarole of the reg paperwork, for instance, would be SO much more efficient and practical. But ultimately, that's just for doing chain-of-title work.
