I’m 26 weeks pregnant and trying to figure out my leave. I live in NJ and work at PwC, any fishes know the policy for NJ and PwC? The leave center has not been much help and I want to plan NOW not like 60 days before. I was told NJ gets two weeks before due date and PwC gives you two weeks as well.

You did nothing wrong. You should not feel guilty. Hundreds and thousands of women have started jobs while pregnant. It would have been illegal for the company to ask, even if you were showing (if in the U.S.).
I interviewed for a consulting firm at 7 weeks pregnant and started at 13 weeks pregnant. I told at about 24 weeks, when I felt like I’d established myself on a few projects. Also, I was assigned some projects that wrapped the week of my due date at that point, so it was important to tell from a continuity standpoint.
Tell them when you’re ready, not when you feel that you should. Be unapologetic. “I am letting you know that I’m pregnant and I am so looking forward to this next stage of my life at this company. I will be sure to train xyz before I am out and look forward to returning after leave and really hitting the ground running. I plan to tell HR (whoever) later today and we can connect on next steps when it makes sense.”
Do not say sorry!
And congrats!!!
I personally think it is wrong to take a new job if you are pregnant and don’t tell them. You start to get on board and then take many months off. I am a mother and don’t think that is ethical
There’s a reason there is a law protecting pregnant women.
A mother’s career is decades long. She is out for months.
Do you think women CHOOSE to start jobs pregnant? What do you expect people to do? You are coming from an EXTREME place of privilege to think women start jobs pregnant “on purpose.” It’s out of necessity to have an income and not be out of the workforce for a year.
Rethink your position please; I expect more from a fellow mother.
