They do it in Europe a lot. I took an AMS-LUX flight back in March. The machines work like the automated Schneigen Area Visa machines (I guess not a relevant example if you don't go to Europe often).
You scan the boarding pass, and gate lets people in one at a time. Gate agents watch, but I believe it reduces the headcount needed.
So.....no human presence at the gate? Set up like a turn-style?
United does this in Boston. Haven’t seen it in other airports yet
I’m confused...do you not usually scan your ticket on the scanner thing ? Can’t remember the last time I had a physical ticket...
^what D1 said. If you’re in the exit row you have to click the screen to acknowledge you’re ok with it
