I would give them 10k for extra Mario Lopez
This really isn’t much of anything; at most, 10k
Ask for whatever would make you happy to stay there again. A TV issue and trash in a bin (if it’s just that) to me isn’t even worth the time speaking to a manager so I’d be happy with whatever they offered. If it’s irks you enough to not stay there again it’s up to you to set a price for your future business.
Just use your computer or read a book? I don’t think I’ve ever switched rooms because of a faulty tv...
The hotel offered the switch. We didn’t ask for it. Plus, husband likes TV and wanted to see the NBA Finals game - I personally didn’t care since I don’t watch TV when I travel. We got a room with an even better view so we were happy, but the new room was not fully cleaned - easily fixable but no one ever came to do the work. We stopped a housekeeper the next day to give the trash to her ourselves.
The hotel offered points after we experienced issues with the TV in the new room. They were installing new TVs and systems and were having problems throughout the hotel. We made mention that they forgot to send someone to finish cleaning the new room and the manager apologized and offered drinks for that error. I said no, we want points. She said she would send an email to work it out with us after the stay completed.
Minor issues compared to others, but since the points were offered originally and the dialogue will begin, what is a good amount to ask for in the experience of others?

Honestly, I enjoyed the upgraded room more than anything else. I told them about the room not being clean since when we moved, the bellman was supposed to have someone come up. I wasn’t irate about it, just letting them know that they didn’t follow through and we took care of it. NBD. And I told them this when they called to see how we were enjoying our new room. The manager sputtered over herself with apology giving the impression that it was that bad of a deal.
I sometimes find that I can be easily forgiving about things and because I am, I can miss out or let people get away with poor treatment. In this case, it seems like the hotel is attempting to overcompensate on their side, so whatever is offered, I’ll go with it.
