Take stuff off. HR loves boxes—make it easy for them to check yours. It’s not lying; it’s strategic editing.
I think unfortunately it is necessary to do this sometimes. I wish that more employers would take a risk on people who have more or different experience than the role typically requires, but that's not the reality. So I think it's okay to do this and try to control their perception of you
What
I edit my job for each job application and just try my best to include what they want, and just a little more for skills. Don't worry about it and good luck!

I’ve been in that exact spot, and honestly, you were probably for bigger things. It’s really tempting to settle just to get a foot in the door, but being called “overqualified” usually just means they don’t know how to handle everything you bring to the table. These newer hiring systems (ATS) don’t help either — so much of it is automated now, and people with solid experience sometimes get filtered out before a real person even sees the application. I’ve trimmed down my resume before, but I tried to do it in a way that made it feel more focused, not like I was hiding who I am. You don’t have to shrink to fit — the right team will recognize your value and won’t be afraid of it.
