And I had a similar experience at pwc very recently, boy I tell you both of the directors were very cold where as I interviewed with a boutique company, I actually enjoyed 5 rounds of interviews; although it doesn’t have a name but is it has a 4.0 Glassdoor rating.
Tried applying at Google so many times, passed the assessment but never really received any interviews. At least you are doing something right. Keep trying you might end up with a different team.
In many cases we get so many applicants that before we get to the end of the sometimes 1000+ applicant list we’ve already conducted 3 rounds of interviews with strong candidates and gotten offers out.
Often it’s not a quality issue on your end but a timing issue.
For which position
When my team was hiring a couple months back my manager asked me to conduct some interviews along with a few others on my team. It was my first time and I was trying to keep in mind all the things from the training and take notes.
Person we hired on my team later told me how cold I had seemed in the interview and how different I was in person.
Just a reminder that both participants in the interview are people and either one could be new and trying to figure it out.
