Just learned one of our top sales leaders shared our costs (broken down into every little category) directly with one of our customers. It even showed how much margin we were marking it up. Anyone else ever heard of this happening or consequences that came out of it? I’m seeing this as a huge deal but can’t seem to see other executives reacting the same.

Aren’t you guys always saying you want regular employees to look at the big picture and feel invested in the company’s success?

Also, maybe just a different industry/company structure, but, I get blamed if people do something financially stupid at any of the small subsidiaries I do reporting for. I’m supposed to be their advisor but you can’t anticipate every single weird thing people might try to do and preemptively train. And the really weirdly dumb stuff people usually don’t seek advice about.

While this practice puts us in a weaker negotiation position, many of our customers are former big 4 and have an idea of our business model and target RPHs.

I’ve been getting quotes for work to be done on my house and a lot of the quotes have come back very detailed with margin broken out. Everyone knows you’re in it to make money…

Just a fun update here, the leader has finally been let go. Turns out it’s not a great idea to share all costs when you are a distributor.

I'm a third year plaintiff's employment law attorney and I'm looking to move to defense, preferably still in employment law. I received an offer from a midsize firm that primarily focuses on PI with little-to-no employment law practice, so I'll have a bit of a learning curve. Offer is $90k, billable hours of 2100. Is this reasonable? I'm dead-set on leaving my current job, and this would be a $20k pay increase - which makes me believe I'm leaning towards taking it for those reasons only.

GTM moving back into consulting is a good idea in theory, but it’s like a train wreck happening in slow motion.

Sure feels like they are pushing to stand up a traditional CRE network for product sales inside of consulting … that won’t work in a service business. Some of us have seen this movie before - different theatre.

Watch how this plays out over next 6 months.
