Hi Fishies,
Looking for any reviews/suggestions regarding Pubmatic. Most important is the tech stack and learning aspects.
Big data technologies(Scala-Spark etc) and Java.
Also in discussion with Impetus and Autodesk (via third party i.e. Applicantz).
CTC is not a concern right now as what they are offering is enough for me right now.
Any suggestions would be helpful

Hey! Any Google folks know if it’s possible to negotiate fully remote if a contract role is hybrid? Personally, I don’t want to relocate and go to the office on a contract role given the current economy. Plus, I’m assuming contractors are the first to go in layoffs. I just think it’s a fair trade off if I’d be allowed to work fully remote. I’m also trying to have flexibility to manage my Airbnb business in a different country. Same time zone as the home office if I’d travel weeks at a time.

Sometimes this could be a double-edged sword meaning you have the one side some say if you love what you do then the pay isn't so important but at the end of the day and if they submit you an offer read it thoroughly because there will probably again most of the time, not saying every time, there's a line or two in there that says employment or pay can be adjusted or employment can be terminated at any given time by such employer given sorry that was kind of a big text to talk right on sentence you go to work to get a paycheck I can tell you from experience and I can tell you this, going into either an interview or discussing/negotiating your offer that is your one chance to do it unfortunately many companies nowadays will say oh well we can reevaluate you and yournn 30 60 90 and we'll go from there again there's no guarantee so I would take the offer very seriously I would negotiate very seriously as well depending on your position and how much you want the role. If the chances given if you haven't already make sure you slam out some bullet points that gives great reasoning for why you feel you deserve such salary versus what they offered. Regardless congratulations it's got to be an awesome feeling good luck Godspeed!!
I’m a board member for a nonprofit. Salaries are by far our greatest expense, so we manage them very closely. We don’t have a lot of budget space to negotiate on salaries, but in limited cases might do so if we really want that person. It’s a disadvantage of non-profit work, unfortunately.
You could try, but you risk the offer being rescinded. Nonprofits are working with a different structure than corporations. It's not an extra 10k being taken from the millionaire CEO. It's an organization with a very limited budget trying to do the best they can with that. They may not have anywhere else to take that additional salary from.
Sometimes a business will say that but it's merely a ploy to avoid paying more, and they do indeed have the money. In the case of a nonprofit you might hit a wall in trying to negotiate, as their budgets can be fixed and very tight. You might delicately dance around it, say you were hoping for more, and feel them out. Be tactful, however, if you come off as not taking them seriously you could risk having them rescind the offer.
