Is the money enough to cover your life and a few wants?
Do you- as objectively as possible - think you'll be happier at the new job? (Asking yourself the tough questions of what other things going on in your life will follow you, no matter where you work.)
If the answer to both is "yes," then it's probably worth a punt. Mental health is so important.
It would mean changing my lifestyle quite a bit, including potentially moving, and I wouldn't be able to put almost anything in savings. If they'd split the difference I'd be more comfortable, but I just don't think it's liveable as is. (It's a 35% reduction in base salary).
And what about the actual work? Does it excite you? Will it lead to an objectively better next thing? Is the culture of the new place better than your current?
If you're settling for "same/similar shit" somewhere else, and for a lot less money and lots of life disruption... Well, honestly that doesn't sound like the path to happiness either. :/
The work itself sounds challenging, but interesting. I think it would be much better for my mental health, but not being able to contribute to savings wouldn't be good for me either.
Well, you could go there but know that you'll want to move in, say a year or so.
Tough choices regardless - I wish you well
