Just thought y'all would be interested in this data point - if you are good at what you do with a good resume (i.e. good experience + solid career progression + knocked out relevant certs and community inovlvement a bonus), and are at the manager level (whether or not you have direct reports), I'm seeing comp packages out there routinely hit 250k, HCOL doesn't matter. Sr. Manager exceeding 300k. I have been a party to multiple offers amongst my mentees at this level.

Question, if you pay off your house isn’t a 100k salary more than enough to sustain a good lifestyle? My goal has always been to payoff my mortgage then find a really easy analyst role to sustain my expenses.
