I have some doubt regarding pf contribution... Say for example.. 12% of my base salary is 600 which gets deducted from my salary.. on the flip side.. the company has to contribute 600 to my pf (which is actually deducted from my salary only like already part of CTC)?. So my question again is that.. the company contributes 600 as well? PwC

In 2021 I put notice in before First Advantage finished my background check (I have a TS clearance, figured everything was fine).
They delayed my start date by seven weeks due to First Advantage moving so slow; I ended up going without a paycheck for over a month because of it. And had I not raised hell with Talent at Deloitte, it likely would have taken longer.
Fun twist of fate: during that time, I started interviewing for other roles (just in case it fell through). One of those companies contacted me out of the blue a few weeks back; I'll be joining them soon for a $80k TC increase.
Wouldn't have met that firm if First Advantage hadn't taken so long 🤷♂️

Yes technically, but I tend not to give two weeks notice until everything is done. Leaves for smaller gap between end and start of job but better save than sorry - especially in this economic climate.
It’s binary…. You’re in or you’re not. If there still are components unfinished, then you aren’t hired yet. I would suggest to get with the hiring manager to get verbal ok, and talk to the recruiting team to get a clear confirmation (in writing) whether all the pieces have unfolded so you can give notice. I often wait (and ask to be cc/ed on) the managers introduction of new team member (I have a low risk tolerance).
And don’t change your LinkedIn until a few weeks after hire.
Best!
