Deloitte experienced hires, who all received written offers and in process of visa/ onboarding, have you heard back anything about hiring freeze? Or recruiter asked you to delay joining date?
My visa got submitted couple of days back and waiting for decision. When I reached out to recruiter to give her an update and mentioned once there’s decision will discuss on the start date before putting my 2 weeks, she mentioned “Yes, we should talk before you put notice” - Am I overthinking? Good or Bad?
My referral had interviews w/ (1)
recruiter, (1) SM, then the series of
(3) 1:1's w/(1) MD and (2) SM's.
The recruiter said he will now have
an interview in Jan. w/ the PPMD.
He interviewed for a M role in
consulting for customer marketing.

He does have a wide skill set and the
recruiter said it was all positive

where to put him (on the team he
interviewed for or another he is

Hi there, I have 3.5 YOE working for NHS Finance. I applied to Deloitte Risk Advisory, Public Sector (London, UK) and was successful. Waiting to hear back with package offer but it’s been over 2 weeks - was told they may offer M2 grade, any ideas what this is?
I’m also interviewing for Senior consultant role also at Deloitte. How much would this typically pay?
Torn whether to stay within NHS as I will be getting an internal promotion or move to Deloitte.

Posted earlier in the Consulting Exit Opportunity bowl about this. May be worth the read.
Short answer- 4 months in and I am still not settled or comfortable. You are not alone. Your experience appears to be shared with many experienced hires based on my conversations.
Can’t say I have much to offer for tips. I am networking, asking questions, and planning an exit after a year. I may return after they iron out the experienced hire onboarding challenge.
Happy to chat if needed.
I’ll let you know when I settle in (11 months so far)
It took me ~6-8 months for it to click. There are still things I probably don’t know 3 years in, but it’s a large, complex organization and to be expected.
Deloitte is like the fight club. So elite. It’s hard to blend in.
Takes too much of kissing ass to get opportunities or visibility.
Recognition comes to a select few depending on proximity to partners. If you are lucky you will get it. If not just the usual grind for mere mortals.
There's a reason why you're considered a new hire the first year and on ToD it lets you know how many days you've been there for the first year, because it knows you're out of place for that duration
ToD?
Start from fleeing comfortable not knowing everything and being uncomfortable. I’m 1 month in and I probably have a lot that I don’t know but I’m fine with that. Don’t be too anxious it’s just a job :)
“Fleeing the comfortable” works too.. that’s how I read it 😆
Run while you can, you might not understand and when you do you realize we do the work companies don’t want to do, staff augmentation, weird PMO
On the exact same boat
Assimilation takes time. Although 3 weeks (or even months) is a really high expectation. Give yourself time!
Is there something more specific we can help with? E.g., navigating our systems, performance expectations at level, general client project expectations.
Deloitte is my second consulting firm. I’m happy to offer my perspective on your questions. Feel free to DM!
Thank you D4! I appreciate the reassurance, I would much rather be told I’m impatient than feel like I’m failing or made the wrong choice. I will add that everybody I’ve spoken to thus far has been super helpful, it’s just that as a newbie sometimes you don’t always know the right questions to ask or who to ask.
It will take forever! The culture at D is such that it does not let homegrown and experienced hire assimilate and leverage each other's experience and knowledge.
Thanks all.. just hoping that there’s light at the end of the tunnel… for all of us!
Don’t worry , it will take time but you will get there (5 months so far) :)

I think it matters on the practice, I’m still learning some of Deloitte specific aspects and I’m at month 6 but it’s as they appear in my work. But I think primarily about 3 weeks in I was up to speed but I was also immediately staffed and hit the ground running
4 months, near 5. Can relate. Many years experience.
6 months in & I can relate. /:
In the same boat as you. Was bamboozled yesterday when I was told I needed to take on x,y,z responsibilities which are several pay grades above me. Came from another B4 and finding the same issues settling in.
8 months in and now I feel I have a pretty good handle on what’s going on. Hang in there! 🤣
Don’t over think too much I have been in the same satiation when I joined Wipro however my advice focus in your work and connect with people and ask for help
