I have recently joined EY SaT group as senior consultant recently in Netherlands. I’m tripple masters in MS economics, MBA and MS business analytics. Have 4 YOE in different industries but no M&A experience specifically. Any ideas what company should be offering me? I’ll be working as expert on commercial due diligence, FDD and valuation teams and doing automation alongside. is it wise to demand higher salary or promotion soon after I have proven that I can work and do it better than most?EY

Man the stories I could tell of how some of my "friends" tried to gatekeep or prevent others from going for the same opportunities
Do tell. Would love to hear

There with you, my friend. 🫂 I was disappointed by how people changed during internship recruiting, but I thought we would have all chilled out a bit during FT recruiting. 😐
No wonder in my experience, I found that we get along better with alumni or alumni want to help us — it's because they weren't competing with us.
It’s not just during recruiting. I’ve brought people onboard who’ve looked for opportunities to take me down after being hired.
I'm so sorry, and this is after you advocated for them to bring them into your firm? 😥
Turns out competitive jobs are competitive
I see what you're saying, Associate, but I don't think we have to become assholes. I wonder how professional athletes do it because they compete against each other all the time, but many seem supportive of each other.
When recruiting started, I've had "friends" start acting coolly towards me at best —until I could help them in some way — or making it difficult for me at worst. And when I voluntarily shared useful info with friends, it wasn't reciprocated.
